Privacy Policy

Thank you for using Nightstand Alarm and Reminders. Your privacy is not an afterthought in this app — it’s the design. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your information.
Short version: the app collects nothing, sends nothing, and keeps everything on your device.
No data collection
Nightstand Alarm and Reminders does not collect any personal data. It does not ask you to create an account, and no account is required to use any feature.
No network connections
The app makes no network connections. It works fully offline. Because it never talks to any server, none of your information is ever transmitted anywhere.
No third-party SDKs, ads, analytics, or trackers
The app contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising, no analytics, and no trackers. There is no code in the app whose purpose is to observe, profile, or report on your behavior.
Your data stays on your device
Everything you create in the app — your alarms, reminders, medications, journal entries, and history logs — is stored only on your device.
Optional backups, in your own iCloud
The app offers optional backups so you don’t lose your data. They use your own iCloud, not any service run by the developer:
- iCloud Drive backups are written to a folder for this app in your own iCloud Drive, under your own Apple Account. If you use the app on more than one device, iCloud Drive carries those backups between your devices using iOS’s built-in iCloud mechanism — the same one that syncs your photos and documents. Nothing goes through the developer: there is no developer server, and the app makes no network connection of its own. The folder is visible in the Files app, and you can delete any backup there at any time.
- Exported files are JSON files that you export to a location you choose.
Your iCloud data is protected by Apple’s account security and iCloud encryption (including Advanced Data Protection, if you have turned it on). Nobody but you can access these backups — not the developer, and not any third party. The developer never receives, stores, or has access to any of your data — not your on-device data and not your backups.
No account required
There is no sign-up and no login. You can use every feature of the app without providing any identifying information.
System integrations
By design, the app does not use Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, App Intents, or activity donations. It does not share your alarms, reminders, or medications with other parts of the operating system. The app does use iOS notifications, because notifications are the only way it can alert you for alarms, reminders, and medication doses; you control whether notifications are allowed.
Children’s privacy
Nightstand Alarm and Reminders is safe for all ages and is rated 4+. Because the app collects no personal data and makes no network connections, it does not knowingly collect information from children or anyone else.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
